Since the emergence of colonial countries, the Indonesian archipelago has always been coveted and invaded by colonial countries such as Portugal, England, and especially the Netherlands due to its rich resources. With its long-term presence in this region, Dutch colonialism implemented cultural, political, economic, etc. policies that had many consequences. The current research intends to answer this basic question with the descriptive-analytical method and the method of collecting information in the form of a library, what were the cultural policies of the Dutch colonialism during their presence in this country and what changes did they go through and also what consequences has it had? In this article, firstly, the historical background of the archipelago until the presence of colonialism is briefly discussed, and then the presence of the Netherlands in the region is divided into four periods, and while addressing the cultural policies of each period, the consequences and people's reactions to those policies are examined and the fate of those policies and their success or failure are discussed.
