The political life of Yemen faced a new challenge with the arrival of Portuguese sailors in its coastal waters like countries such as India, Egypt and Iran in the 10th century of Hijri. In fact, the Portuguese businessmen looked at the land of Yemen as a sea fortress in order to gain new sea routes and take control of the Muslim trading centers as well as the monopoly of the Indian spice trade. The current research, using the historical research method and using the descriptive-analytical method and citing original historical sources and new reliable researches, is looking for familiarity with one of the hidden aspects of Yemen's history, and aims to respond to This is the question of what were the stages of the presence of the Portuguese in this land and what consequences did it bring? The findings of the research show that the Portuguese targeted Yemen in order to destroy the economic and political influence of Muslims, to ensure the security of their trade routes and also to spread Christianity in the first half of the 10th century of Hijri. One of the most important consequences of this event is the creation of many economic and commercial problems for Yemeni Muslims and businessmen, the spread of political chaos, and finally the weakening and fall of the Taherian government.
