Education and training of teenagers has an important place in ISIS's intellectual system, and for this reason, ISIS's Islamic caliphate established public schools and published textbooks. Textbooks are one of the written sources published by ISIS caliphate and can be useful for knowing the intellectual and ideological system of ISIS. The present article intends to explore the basic elements of ISIS historiography in the history of Islam by examining and analyzing the text of ISIS history textbooks. The basic question of the upcoming article is, what image of Islamic history does ISIS present to students. Based on the study and analysis of the text of ISIS textbooks, four components based on historical approaches that rely on their ideological foundations have been extracted as the most prominent components of Islamic history narration in ISIS textbooks: understanding history based on focusing on the ideology of the caliphate, prominence of the concept of Jihad, selective use of historical sources and traditions, highlighting the companions of the beloved Prophet of Islam. The research findings show; ISIS, by using selected sources and emphasizing on the central figures of Islam, especially the Companions of the Holy Prophet, is trying to introduce students to a desirable character model based on its ideology and to strengthen specific intellectual and moral traits such as following the righteous predecessor, jihadism, self-sacrifice and trust among them.
