.The appearance of Ismail Safavi in Iran's political scene in the early 10th century is a turning point in the evolution of social history. He gave Iran a unified and stable identity by creating a centralized government and declaring the Twelve Imam Shi'ism as the official religion and used coins as a religious and political Messenger tool. The purpose of the research is to know the effective role of money in the tendency of Iranian people towards Shiism during the Safavid period. In an era where money to convert to a sign and legitimizing value from an absolute tool and economic purpose. Through the Simmel's point and philosophy of money, investigating the postmodernity of coin is studied as a fait social total in the social history of Iran. Research method is descriptive-analytical, the data collection method is inductive by examining the collection of safavid era coins based on the political and religious events related to them, as well as data analysis is with the continuous dialectical methodological approach and Simmel's dualism. It explains the findings of the researcher from money-material to money-symbol in the Safavid era. By abstracting the quality, the coin represents the value of things beyond the purely quantitative and numerical form as a support of value and a medium of exchange and it finds the shape of a sign to explain spiritual values. As a result, the coin becomes a fait social total through which it narrates the political and social history of the Safavid era and represents the struggles of power and gaining legitimacy.
