This article examines the historical and geographical identity of Palestine during the Ottoman period (1516-1917) and the British Mandate (1917-1947). The aim of the research is to answer the question of whether Palestine was recognized as a distinct geographical and political unit during these periods. Citing historical documents, geographical maps, and Ottoman and European sources, this study shows that the name "Palestine" has always been used to refer to the area between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, and no other name has been used for the entire land. The findings also indicate that Palestine, as a distinct land, has maintained its independent identity throughout history, especially during the Ottoman period. This evidence refutes contemporary claims that Palestine did not exist historically and emphasizes that this name has been continuously recorded in historical documents and maps of various periods, including the Ottoman period. In addition to establishing the historical identity of Palestine, this research highlights the importance of accurately knowing this land in understanding developments in the Middle East.
