Hezb-e-Islami Afghanistan is one of the most important political-military groups in the contemporary history of this country, emerging from the Islamist movements of the 1960s. Since its establishment, this party has played a role in the political and social developments of Afghanistan, including the jihad against the Soviet army, internal conflicts among the Mujahideen, a passive stance towards the Taliban, and opposition to the political system arising from the Bonn Conference. Due to the special position and performance of this party, a scientific and comprehensive analysis of it is essential for understanding contemporary Afghan politics. This research, using a descriptive-analytical method and relying on written sources, documents, publications, and expert interviews, examines the historical trajectory, performance, and political and social consequences of Hezb-e-Islami Afghanistan, and also looks at its future prospects. The findings indicate that during its activities, this party played an effective role in the jihad against the Soviet occupation and also, due to internal conflicts and armed actions, exacerbated political instability. The 2016 peace agreement and the party's return to political activities indicate a change in its approach in recent years. However, the future of this party will depend on its ability to adapt to new conditions and participate in the country's political processes.
