Mohammad Ali Shah after bombarding parliament, became absolute
political power in the country. And after that, the country's press space
was closed. The Persian-language press abroad was in charge of
spreading the news, due to the dispersal and closure of the domestic
press during this period. Calcutta's Habl-al-Matin was the onlyPersianlanguage journal published for most of the period of minor tyranny.
Therefore, a review of the issues of this journal during the time of minor
tyranny, could be a useful guide for researchers. Publishing 49issues,
in addition to publishing news of minor tyranny based on domestic and
foreign news sources, Habl al-Matin publishers sought to illuminate
public opinion by publishing editorials and presenting an analysis of
Iran and world’s events related to minor tyranny.
This article, through a descriptive-analytical method and a statistical
study of the news of Habl-al-Matin's events of minor tyranny, has
analyzed how Habl-al-Matin inform and influence that period as well
as it’s obstacles. The results show that despite obstacles suchas the
distance between the source of news and Calcutta and the political
situation of different cities, (including the siege of cities by government
forces that block the free information), this journal accordingto
statistics, well informed the news of minor tyranny. what implicates
mentioned subject, is stirring of Iranian public opinion insideand
outside the country that has helped domestic constitutionalistsin the
form of donations and uprisings against tyrants.
