The Abbasid era is known for the emergence of powerful Iranian bureaucrats such as the Barmakids and the Sahl dynasty whom were the most famous of. The Barmakids and Sahl dynasties undoubtedly made the greatest effort to rebuild Iranian identity within the Abbasid government. Essentially, the outstanding feature of these powerful families was the preservation and expansion of the position of non-Arab Muslims, and subsequently the preservation of Iranian culture, art, politics, and government. For all of these families, especially the Barmaqi family, returning to the pre-Islamic era was the most important goal of politics within the Abbasid regime. Based on what has been said, the question of the present research is: "What role did Iranian bureaucrats play in strengthening the position of non-Arab Muslims in the Abbasid Caliphate?" The hypothesis put forward is that due to the dominance of Iranian bureaucrats, non-Arab Muslims enjoyed a proper position and enjoyed citizenship rights like other Muslims. The present study is based on a descriptive-analytical method and documentation of library resources.
